ECOLOGICAL LANDSCAPE CLASSIFICATION

ELC is a fundamental baseline mapping exercise which significantly enhances environmental assessment processes. Our team regularly conducts ELC studies to identify, categorize and evaluate local ecosystems, including vegetation types and communities, associated habitats, and any particularly sensitive ecological features within or adjacent to a project area.

WETLAND DELINIATION, CLASSIFICATION AND DEPTH MAPPING

Our team is trained and certified for wetland delineation and classification, and has extensive experience in flora identification and depth class mapping on wetland sites. We can evaluate the potential impact of development on surrounding wetland sites, and develop mitigation plans to ensure a healthy, vibrant wetland ecosystem is maintained.

TIMBER INVENTORY AND APPRAISAL

We utilize ground data and interpreted GIS information to determine the quantity and quality of forest resources existing on a piece of land, large or small. Wondering how much value there is in sale of timber? We can determine the value of timber stock based on current prices and proximity to markets.

LAND USE PLANNING

We work with partnering companies to implement large-scale land use planning projects. For this purpose, our team provides GIS expertise, insight on resource management issues, and aids in the development of new policies for resource management.

WATER QUALITY MONITORING

Our team utilize advanced tools to test, monitor and report on the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of inland and coastal waters.

PLANT AND RARE FLORA ASSESSMENT

Our team can conduct vegetation inventories for a variety of purposes in urban, rural and remote areas. We specialize in the mapping, assessment and monitoring of rare vascular plant species for a variety of purposes in various sectors.

ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS MONITORING

Providing expertise and sound advice, to assure that the environmental commitments and objectives at every project stage are being achieved. Clients can have confidence that environmental protection plans are being implemented and that their on going work is maintaining conformance and compliance with regulation, approvals and permits.

BASELINE SURVEYS AND MONITORING

We assist our clients in establishing appropriate baseline environmental data enabling them to set goals and monitor results.  We also provide monitoring services to assess an activity’s progress and effectiveness during implementation.

AERIAL DATA CAPTURE

Our team of trained and experienced UAS pilots collect remotely sensed data for the analysis of natural resources. We collect airborne optical data, develop geoprocessing models custom to your application and deliver in a web-based environment, accessible from anywhere, at any time and on any device.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Through partnerships with various educational institutions, research bodies, funding agencies and other partners, Resource Innovations is heavily involved in research initiatives directed toward the innovation, introduction and improvement of natural resource based products and services.
